WBPSC Recruitment Notification 2022 for Junior Engineer Posts

The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold a Combined Competitive Examination for recruitment to the posts of Junior
Engineers (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) in West Bengal Sub-ordinate Service of Engineers (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) under the various
Departments, Directorates, other offices and establishments of Government of West Bengal.

(WBPSC) Public Service Commission, West Bengal invites the Application forms for the Post of Junior Engineers.

Eligibility Criteria for WBPSC JE Recruitment 2022

Upper Age Limit   

Not more than 36 years as on 01.01.2022 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986).

Age Relaxations

S.C. & S.T. candidates –  5 years
O.B.C. [non-creamy layer] candidates of West Bengal  – 3 Years
PWD candidates – upper age limit is relaxable upto 45 years.

Note- No relaxation is applicable to S.C./S.T./O.B.C. candidates of other States as they shall be treated as general candidates.

Educational Qualifications

3 years diploma in Engineering from Government recognized institute/Indian University in Concern discipline in which candidates apply.

Junior Engineers (Civil) –  Diploma in Civil Engineering from the State Council for Engineering and Technical Education,
West Bengal or its equivalent.

Junior Engineers (Mechanical) – Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the State Council for Engineering and
Technical Education, West Bengal or its equivalent.

Junior Engineers (Electrical) – Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the State Council for Engineering and
Technical Education, West Bengal or its equivalent.

Vacancies

The no. of vacancies in different services and posts to be filled on the results of the examination will be announced later. All appointments will initially be made on a temporary basis.

Selection Process

(i) Written Examination (Multiple choice objective type questions) and
(ii) Interview

The Written Examination will be held in Kolkata centre tentatively in the month of April or thereabout followed by the Interview. The
Interview of the candidates selected on the basis of the results of the written examination will be held at the Commission’s office in Kolkata.

Pay Scale    

(PB-4) Rs.9,000-40,500/- + Grade Pay of Rs.4,400/-

Application Fees

Other states/General/BC candidates of West Bengal  – Rs. 160/-
SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40%  – No Fees

NO EXEMPTION OF FEE IS AVAILABLE TO SC/ST/BC CANDIDATES OF OTHER STATES.

1. The applicants would be allowed to edit some of the fields.
2. The Edit Window may be accessed by the applicants by logging into their individual accounts at https://wbpsc.gov.in
3. All applicants are advised to verify the details provided in the online application very carefully and applicants who have not filled in the forms personally are particularly advised to obtain a printout of the form to identify the discrepancies, if any.
4. Applicants willing to change their address may first change the same in the Profile Section and then use the Edit option.
5. The Edit option can be availed only once during the aforesaid period.
6. No request for any change would be entertained after the above mentioned period.
