MDL Non Executives Post – Educational Qualification
| 1. Chipper Grinder | National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in any trade with shipbuilding experience. |
| 2. Composite Welder | NAC in welding trades like TIG/MIG Welder, Structural Welder, Welder (Pipe and Pressure Vessels)/ Advance Welder etc. |

Experience
Five years shipbuilding/sailing experience in a Government/ PSU Shipyard is compulsory in all the above post except for the post of Hindi Translator.
For Hindi Translator five years post qualification experience in Translation from Hindi to English & English to Hindi is compulsory.
Age Limit
The age limit for general candidates is 18 to 38 years as of November 01, 2024.
Age Relaxation :
- Relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer Certificate certificate) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Persons with Disability (40% and above) 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC candidates and 15 years for
SC/ST candidates
Selection Process
Written Test: The written test assesses General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, and Trade-specific Technical Knowledge, with a weightage of 100 marks. Scores are combined with experience marks (40 marks, if applicable) to shortlist candidates.
Experience Marks: Experience marks prioritize candidates with shipbuilding industry experience. Marks are awarded based on years of relevant trade work, ensuring skilled professionals are given preference.
Trade/Skill Test: The skill test evaluates hands-on expertise and is qualifying in nature.
